Advance Health Care Directive

An Advance Health Care Directive is the term for documents that instruct your agent and medical providers about your wishes regarding life-sustaining or end-of-life care.

You can appoint someone, your agent, to make these type of health care decisions for you when you are unable to. It could be that you do not wish to receive artificial feeding or respiration, or that you do not want excessive pain medications. As with Powers of Attorney, the danger is that once you cannot communicate your wishes, it is too late to create an Advance Health Care Directive, and other persons will make these decisions for you.

But it will be your wishes, and many more, that are identified in the Advance Health Care Directive that is included with all Will or Trust based estate plans from The Schwartz Law Firm.
